My research focuses on change in freshwater and terrestrial environments at various spatial and temporal scales. For the future, I seek to continue using paleoecological tools supported by an interdisciplinary approach to better understand the role of climatic shifts on the diversity and function of species and ecosystems.
Primary fields of research
Paleoecology
Paleogenomics
Paleolimnology
Freshwater Ecology
Biogeochemistry
Landscape Ecology
Lake sediments
Environmental Change
Paleoclimatology
Current research
My research on long-term methane biogeochemical cycling in the Arctic (ancient environmental DNA and Holocene paleolimnology) is funded by the following organisations:
The Research Council of Norway
