It is important to be aware of the symptoms, signs and diagnostic tools in order to optimise treatment. Herein, the most common eczematous diseases of the vulvar area, i.e. lichen simplex chronicus, seborrhoeic dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, irritant contact dermatitis, and non-systemic and systemic allergic contact dermatitis are reviewed.
