N2 - The stabilization of higher formal oxidation states and a triple metal-metal bond are the results of the formation of the ruthenium(III) corrole homodimer [{Ru(hedmc)}2] (1; hedmc = 2,3,8,12,17,18-hexaethyl-7,13-dimethylcorrole), which is readily prepared under aerobic conditions. The structure and electronic states have been investigated by X-ray diffraction, NMR spectroscopy, and ESR spectroscopy.
