My primary research interests are the epidemiology of major non-communicable diseases and mortality in the general population with special focus on cardiovascular disease and respiratory disease. For this purpose, I use high quality data from settings spanning general population cohorts, such as the Copenhagen General Population Study, to nationwide registry studies, while applying advanced epidemiological methods including causal inference approaches.
Clinical epidemiology, genetic epidemiology, vitamin D, obstructive pulmonary disease, cardiovascular disease, obesity, use of metabolomics for prediction in cardiovascular and other diseases.
