My previous research has been mainly on bacterial diseases in poultry (primarily Escherichia coli and Enterococcus faecalis). A DFF grant of curing avian pathogenic Escherichia coli for their antimicrobial resistance encoding genes in 2014 with the use helper compound sat the start for my previous research interest in novel antimicrobial compounds for treatment of infections with multi-resistant bacteria in humans and animals.
