My special interest is the developing human neocortex, with particular focus on the glycoprotein YKL-40, recently shown in human embryonic stem cells and normal human brain development and previously shown in many cancer forms, and in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Differentiation of human embryonic stem cells compared to normal human development is also a central component of recent scientific activities.
