Primary lateral sclerosis is a rare disorder characterized by degeneration of the upper motor neurons. Distinction of primary lateral sclerosis from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is important because of the major difference in prognosis. A case of primary lateral sclerosis in a 58-year-old woman is presented, and the characteristic of this disorder are discussed.
