Tor Henrik Semb
Professor
Human Stem Cell Biology
Blegdamsvej 3B, 2200 København N, 6.4
Henrik Semb's research focus on elucidating basic mechanism in morphogenesis and how tissue architecture controls cell lineage commitment by using a combination of in vivo and in vitro genetic and cell biological experimental tools. Pancreas organogenesis in the mouse is used as model. We also use human pluripotent stem cells (hESCs/hiPSCs) as tools to study human pancreatic beta cell development and beta cell dysfunction in vitro as well as a source for transplantable beta cells in type 1 diabetes therapy.
