N2 - Recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP) is a condition with benign tumours in the respiratory tract. RRP ensues in both children and adults. The disease is induced by low-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) types HPV-6 and HPV-11. RRP have a recurrent nature with symptoms ranging from hoarseness, dyspnoea, and dysphagia to life-threatening airway obstructions. Currently, no medical curative treatment of RRP is available, however, the literature indicates, that the HPV-vaccines could protect against RRP by preventing genital warts.
