N2 - Hip resurfacing arthroplasty (RHA) was introduced as a superior alternative to the standard total hip arthroplasty (THA) in treating younger, more active patients. Early failure associated with adverse reactions to metal debris is now a known complication after hip resurfacing. There is no short-term difference in clinical outcome between patients operated with THA and RHA, and those operated with RHA are at greater risk of reoperation. Follow-up of patients having had RHA is recommended to follow national guidelines
