I am a biochemist with a strong interest in protein structure, function and engineering at the interface between basic and applied plant science. My PhD studies were focused on engineering electron transfer chains connecting heterologous cytochroome P450 enzymes with photosynthetic electron transport, as part of the development of novel photosynthetic whole-cell biocatalysis of complicated natural products.
I am currently a postdoc in the group of Assoc. Prof. Mathias Pribil, which focuses on elucidating the role and influence of curvature-inducing proteins on organization and function of photosynthetic processes. In this context my work focuses on the development of quantitative methods to elucidate protein-protein complexes and interactions, and developing new model systems to test our hypotheses.
