I am a terrestrial ecologist with a strong background in experimental field based methods. My research focus is on Arctic ecosystems and my special interest is in the functional role of mosses. Arctic ecosystems are facing dramatic changes due to climate change and mosses are particularly important component of these ecosystems. I work in the interface between ecosystems and community ecology. I investigate the consequences of mosses responses to climate change for ecosystem C and N-cycling and for other ecosystem components such as competition with vascular plants.
