Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceeding › Book chapter › Research › peer-review
Writers are often seen as individual intellectuals striving to influence the public from their own individual position. In this chapter charts the troubles as well as the successes of authors in the Santal linguistic community as they try to create organizations to sustain and strengthen the situation for the Santali language and the Santals themselves. One difficulty facing the Santal writers are the fact that Santali is written with a number of scripts. This and other factors create several public spheres among the Santals.
