abstract = "In 2010 we published a survey and state-of-the art paper, “Old Textiles – New Possibilities”, on the position and advances of archaeological textile research. The paper reflected the research of the centre of excellence, the Centre for Textile Research (CTR), established in 2005 at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, and our strategies to expand the field and develop new methodologies. In this review, we follow up the advancement of methods in archaeological textile research and discuss innovations since 2010. We also assess the ways in which textile research has expanded since 2010 and where there is still new ground to break.",
