Transcription repair coupling factor: A very pushy enzyme
Publikation: Bidrag til tidsskrift › Review › Forskning › fagfællebedømt
An irreversibly stalled RNA polymerase (RNAP) in the coding region of an active gene blocks transcription and can lead to the loss of genome integrity. A recent study of the bacterial Mfd protein (Park et al., 2002 [Cell volume 109]) provides new insight into mechanisms that release RNAP from sites of arrest such as noncoding DNA lesions.
