N2 - Similarly to some 16th century paintings by Bartolomeo Passarotti and AnnibaleCarracci depicting butchers in their workshops, we find in the vase painting of late 6th and 5th century B.C. Athens modes of representation in which the semantics of objects are bound closely to the social class and background of the respective group of recipients.
