Research activities and honors
Published about 120 original peer-reviewed papers and some 25 reviews and other publications. For many years, I have been studying the structure and function of the extracellular matrix, cell-matrix interactions, and cell adhesion proteins, particularly as they relate to cancer.

I have received several honors, including:

  • The Experimental Pathologists in Training Award (1986) by the American Association of Pathologists, USA
  • Odd Fellow Ordenens Research Prize 1987
  • The Young Investigators Research Award (1993) by the Danish Cancer Society
  • The August Krogh Prize (2002)
  • Tagea Brandts Rejselegat (2010).

I carry an elected membership in the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters.
