Learning outcomes: Students will be able to use the R programming language for data analysis of standard study designs, including basic preprocessing, import and export of data, and standardized reports. We will also include a short refresh of basic statistical methods for standard study designs.

Competencies: Students will be able to choose which method is related to specific questions in psychological research, and will perform simple statistical analyses using the R system. Students will also be taught how to auto-generate study reports for deployment as office documents and on WWW sites.

Day 1: Introduction to RStudio, seeking help, importing data, writing R scripts, basic manipulations of the data, aggregating data, basic elements of the programming language
Day 2: Some repetition of introductory statistics (e.g., binomial test, chi-square test, t-test, multiple regression) with implementation in R
Day 3: Standardized generation of statistical reports using rmarkdown
